Grace in Every Season

Grace in Every Season: 5 Lessons I've Learned in 50 Years of Creativity and Faith
Turning 50 this month has stirred up a lot of emotions — gratitude, excitement, a little bit of reflection (okay, maybe a lot), and a renewed sense of purpose for the road ahead.
If there’s one thing the past 50 years have taught me, it’s this:
Grace carries us through every season.
The fast seasons, the slow ones, the beautiful moments, the messy middle — it’s all held together by God's faithful hand.
And today, as I step into this new chapter, I want to share a few lessons from my journey — lessons I hope will encourage you, too, no matter what season you're walking through.
🌿 Lesson 1: Growth Takes Time — And That’s a Gift
We live in a world that glorifies instant success, overnight transformations, and highlight reels.
But true growth — the kind that lasts — happens slowly.
Like a tree planted by streams of water, our roots deepen in hidden seasons long before anyone ever sees the fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7–8)
If you’re feeling unseen, overlooked, or “behind” right now...
I want you to know: You’re exactly where you need to be.
🌸 Lesson 2: God’s Timing Is Always Better Than Mine
There were seasons I prayed for things that didn’t happen when (or how) I wanted.
At the time, it felt like disappointment.
Looking back, it was pure mercy.
God’s timing has a way of protecting us, preparing us, and positioning us for something even greater.
And His plans for you? They're still good. Always good. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
🎨 Lesson 3: Creativity Ebbs and Flows — And Grace Covers Both
As a maker and creative soul, I’ve learned that inspiration comes in waves.
Some seasons are bursting with new ideas.
Others feel quieter, slower, maybe even dry.
Both seasons are holy.
Grace meets us in the momentum and in the stillness.
You are still a creator — even on the days it feels hard to create.
💛 Lesson 4: Community Matters More Than Competition
When I first started creating designs for others, it was tempting to compare myself to everyone around me.
But over time, I realized:
Community always beats competition.
We weren’t created to do this alone.
We grow stronger when we encourage, uplift, and cheer each other on.
That’s part of why I built the All Access Pass and The Creative Connection Community — so you’d have a place where your creativity is celebrated, not compared.
🌼 Lesson 5: You Are Never Too Old (Or Too Late) to Keep Creating
If there’s one lie I want to shatter today, it’s this:
You’re not too old. You’re not too late. You’re right on time.
Whether you’re 25, 50, or 85 — if God is breathing dreams into your heart, it’s because there’s still something beautiful ahead.
Your creativity matters. Your work matters.
And the world needs the light you carry.
✨ A Final Word for This Season
As we step into May together, my prayer for you is simple:
That you would bloom in your season.
That you would stay rooted, even when growth feels slow.
And that you would trust God's gentle, faithful hand — because He’s not finished with you yet.
If you ever need a reminder (or a little creative boost), you’ll always find a space for encouragement, faith, and fresh designs inside the All Access Pass Membership.
Here’s to blooming with grace — right where you are planted. 🌸
